Ceramicando was officially born in November 2007. After 10 years of apprenticeship in various laboratories, Elisabetta Castagnetta feels a strong desire to fully express her creativity. She is guided by the desire to create new, modern pieces that bear her imprint and relate to a young target.
To realize her vision, the artist from Palermo knows well that she will have to break the mold within which the world of ceramics is pigeonholed. This is how the first unreleased piece of Ceramicando was born: a Vespa in 1:1 scale
The boldness of the work was an immediate success, so much so that the young ceramist was contacted by the director of the Piaggio Museum in Pontedera, who decided to exhibit it. Several collaborations were also born with some American stores, also eager to display the Vespa in their showrooms.
Partnerships become over time the main means through which Elisabetta will be able to achieve ever greater visibility. These are targeted partnerships, the result of careful selection. The laboratory's works are chosen over time by Villa Igiea, Verdura Resort, Rinascente and on the occasion of a prestigious Dolce & Gabbana event.
The world of entertainment also soon shifted its spotlight onto ceramics: the pieces, rigorously hand-decorated, were chosen to furnish film and TV series sets, but also for top television programs, such as La Pupa e il Secchione and the Big Brother house.
The creative flair of Ceramicando is continuously driven by passionate study. Style, colors and shapes intertwine and evolve in search of original ideas. The continuous stimulus leads to the birth of numerous lines that today represent the appreciated catalog of the activity. Among the most innovative it is mandatory to mention the Santa Rosalia line, dedicated to the Palermo Santuzza. The series was born two years ago, during the difficult period of the Pandemic, and allowed the artist to achieve an ambitious goal: to inextricably merge the art of ceramics with his hometown.
